Thought I'd drop in and say hey yall. Currently building tube guitar amps with only octal 6 volt early sounding amplifiers. Focusing on the blues "Texas sound". Hooked up with a few builders in East Texas, and now you all. It's nice to have mentors.

Next project is a couple of monoblocks that are "lightning proof"! I have a boat load of 6AN8 tubes. So I'm looking at a couple of schematics currently that I don't have to tweek too much, unlike my guitar amps. 6V6 or 6L6 dual finals would be nice. I have a few pairs of large half amp or better (HV) xmfs, so I'm ready to finalize my planning except for the design, and start in building. Something that will drive 8 ohms. around 20w, 20-20K +/-a couple db flatness freq response. I like dynamic range, but this is where I become limited in my experience with HiFi tube amps. Have lots of test Eq & experience with it, so it's a re-learning process as I've been a tech for 50+ years, but mostly solid state, about 20% vacuum tubes, but in the scientific industry (laser).

Having fun mostly with 6SL7 & 6V6's lately in guitar amps, the last one with dual preamps, & finals (PP).

Looking forward to getting to know you all.

regards,
Doug
