If your into speaker building and have grill to put on...
It took me a long time to figure out the best way... at least for me it works
correct.... OHH and I tried other ways to attach the grill and which ALL WERE A PAIN IN THE BUTT!!!..
I finally decided on magnets.. but the first ones I tried were to small and not strong enough..and I broke a few because I did not know they break easily ... Then I ordered 1 inch round magnet with counter a sunk hole in a steel cup..
It said they hold 39 pounds !! .. These are some great magnets.. you can not
pull off the speaker grill easily......!..
Ok installing.. I just placed the speakers on their backs and put the grill ( no grill cloth yet ) on and centered it..
Then I put a very small amount of super glue on the back of the magnet and placed 1 magnet in each corner of the grill being careful not to move the grill...and let it dry 5 min.....
OK here is a tip I learned from the school of hard knocks...... I used 1 inch L brackets to mount inside the grill to contact the magnet...but remember the magnet has to be in direct contact with the metal to have good holding power... make sure when mounting the L brackets it has 1/16 to 1/8 inch gap enough for any grill cloth to wrap around the grill so the magnets will make complete contact when the completed grill is attached...and if these magnets can hold these grills in place.. it can work on any project..
