Magnetic interference?

Hi,

I am getting what i think is interference from the magnetic ballast and I was wondering if anyone could help confirm or deny this?

When I have my lcd on on its own it looks fine, as it does with the fan on. Note, however, that it does not get that much light through it so I cannot tell for sure as the effect only happens clearly on dark areas.

When i switch on my metal halide lamp, powered by a magnetic ballast, i get horizontal wavey lines across the width of the screen. These only really show up when there are areas of solid colour, and i have noticed it mostly on black. These seem to get slightly worse as the lamp warms up, but it may be that i am just seeing them more.

I have tried plugign in the ballast to antoher power socket but i still get them.

Any ideas if this is likely to be interference or not and if so the best way to deal wtth it and if not what might it be?

Thanks,

Matt

I am using the Hami controller board with extended cables.

I posted this on DPC as well. It turns out that there is interference been picked up by the LCD power cable. Moving this to a different angle all but eliminates it and if i shield this cable (which i may do in the future) it should get rid of it no matter what the angle!

Thanks for the response,

Matt
