The Stetsom is a Class D amp using IR driver chips. I have been inside one or two of them. No class H there,

Perhaps your thinking about the H-Bridge output stage design that most class D amp use.
The only other H bridge design before class D was the power supply used in PPI A-1200 on through to the PCX-21400 models, but it was only used in the power supply, not the audio section, that was standard class AB.

Early Hifonics/ ZED amps with there three stage power supply was about as close as anyone I know of ever got to a high efficiency class AB amp design before class D came along...🙂

i think carver used a class h design in there power supply way back also.

Their marketing would lead you to think so. The 120x2 car amp was a very dissapointing and troublesome amp, IME.

Proton's DPD amps were probably G or H designs. They, as well as Carver, found more success in home audio with their unconventional designs.

There are a couple of folks knowledgable about Carver in other DIYaudio forums (solid state?) who may be of assistance.
