Hi all,
The xover of .7 , is worth it to improve the components, capas and coil, can get a schematic of it
Best regards

I don't think I've seen a 0.7 crossover schematic. Magnepan no longer makes schematics available to customers, so you'd have to inspect an actual speaker and draw it out.
I suspect there's just two/three components. And it's a series crossover.
Dave.

I don't. But I can speculate it's about 1 mH.Do you happen to know the value of the coil used in crossover of the .7?
For reference: The LRS uses a 0.86 mH coil and the 1.7 uses a 1.4 mH coil.
Dave.
Thanks, Dave.I don't. But I can speculate it's about 1 mH.

Hi. May I ask what values are the other components in LRS, I mean the capacitors, the electrolytic one and the plastic film one?I don't. But I can speculate it's about 1 mH.

Sure. there are 3 caps - 2 appear to be poly (10uf each) and the 3rd is 75uf. Then a 1 ohm 10w wire wound resistor. See attachedHi. May I ask what values are the other components in LRS, I mean the capacitors, the electrolytic one and the plastic film one?

Thanks a lot. The caps seem to be joined at the top and to make the total capacitance of 95 uF, right?
Yes. I’ll send you a pic of the circuit this evening. Thanks a lot. The caps seem to be joined at the top and to make the total capacitance of 95 uF, right?
I have upgraded the crossover in .7s! The inductor has 1.4mH! After the upgrade with high quality films and wax inductor the
performance is stunning!!! 😉

Aside from the increasingly widespread belief that passive XOs make little sense today, going active (which almost always now means DSP), you can run these find panels with a wider passband using sharper slopes, not to mention the other improvements.

Sharper slopes just means a more abrupt change in the polar response of the speakers. Not necessarily a good thing.Aside from the increasingly widespread belief that passive XOs make little sense today, going active (which almost always now means DSP), you can run these find panels with a wider passband using sharper slopes, not to mention the other improvements.

These speakers are not bothered by shallow slopes anyway.....relative to conventional speakers.
