I just recieved an order of some Sunon MagLev fans.
I have an idea that it might be possible to strip down the fan and use the magnetically levitated bearing for a tonearm. It seems strong enough to support a tonearm. The bearing is of appropriate size and appears totally frictionless.
Unfortunately I do not have the workshop facilities to try it at the moment, so I am putting forward the idea for someone to try it.
