Does anyone know the native resolution that this madcatz display uses or what panel they use?

1440 X 234 resolution
If that is 1440 by 234 full-color pixels, then this would be a VERY unusual LCD.
I bet it is 1440 red, green, and blue subpixels, which is "marketing-speak" for 480 true pixels.

Re: 1440 X 234 resolution
You are correct, it is 480X234 and is what I was getting at...although it did not come through as clear as have said it.
In any case it is not suitable for DIY projection.

Re: Re: 1440 X 234 resolution
Why does everyone insist that that is an unsuitable resolution for projection? A PSOne lcd is only 320X240 and many people have built with them. If you get one cheap and can live with less than 100 inches they work just fine. I used a 480X234 7" for quite a while and was very happy with it.
