I'm working on a SRM450V2 powered speaker with a burnt PFC section (seems to be a pretty common problem with this model). Unfortunately I'm having trouble sourcing a 12N60C FET. Will the HGTG12N60C3D work as a substitute?

I ended up going with the Vishay SIHP12N60E-E3. The original MOSFET had an insulated package but the vishay did not, but it doesn't seem to cause any problems. Just to document the repair on this particular unit, the bad components I replaced were U40 (LM339), U36 (UC3842), Q13 (2N3906), Q21 (12N60), D62 (IN4746), R233 (0.1R 3W), R230 (1K), R235 (2.49K), R258 (6.19K), C244 (.1uF). C247 (.1uF) appears to have incurred fire damage by the 3842, so I replaced that cap as well. For good measure, I also replaced U35 (3525).
The amp now works as it should.
