Extra connectors/contacts is no concern. Using hypex and purifi for decades no problems at all. About decoupling i can try to fit some easy to solder big smd caps. Goal is to have a cheap adapter board were we can use for the rest quality through hole parts and power supply.
Aha cheap, that is an important parameter. IMHO decoupling (also according data sheet) is mandatory.
I don’t see the reason to build something more expensive than ready made stuff but less good performing. No way that a well executed MA12070 DIY design can compete with a ready made device (pricewise) anyway.

Perhaps simply, if existing, using QFN test socket.Extra connectors/contacts is no concern. Using hypex and purifi for decades no problems at all. But also with this solution, components way to far away from chip!
If PCB producer soldering IC with not SMD decouplings?

Hi Kolfram
No it will not work. Decoupling the power rails is one thing, but the 8 x 10uF flycaps and the gatedrive charge pumps caps that supply PVDD + 7V for each of the 4 internal output stages will suffer real bad.

Hard to do less then this - What is you use case? and are you looking for analog or digital version?

I expect to make 4 or 5 revisions when i can exchange the IC adapter part that will be cheaper. I will ad decoupling caps, flycaps and the gatedrive pump parts to the adapter board..
I am building the analoge version.
I am building the analoge version.
- With separate power supply for analoge part(AVDD).
- inputbuffer without coupling capacitors.
- Proper output filter.
- PBTL mono boards.
Added decoupling caps, Film flycaps, gatedrive pump caps. Back of PCB can addept heatsink with thermal tape(50x50mm).

Final adapterboard.
And motherboard.
1 or 2 channel.
One powersupply 24V 4A.
No switching regulators.
Opa1632 input buffers.
Motherboard all throughhole parts.

Started to build the motherboard, still waiting for some parts.
Board size 100 x 160mm( eurocard).
I have also received the MA12070 adapter PCB's, still no MA12070 available.

The technical details are beyond me, but this looks exceptionally cool! Looking forward to your updates! Nicely done.
I will pubish as build schematic and gerber files for PCB’s when i have tested the design.
Goal is too let the adaperboard fabricated with the smd parts in china and deliver it in a groupbuy with the empty mother board for about 25 to 30 euro. You can build the motherbord as I build but you can also try another inputbuffer, regulators and/or output filter. So it should be a nice diy project.
Power supply can be a 24v 4A SMPS or linear supply.

One remarl, avoid vias in SMD pads.I will pubish as build schematic and gerber files for PCB’s when i have tested the design.

Motherboard is ready and tested.
Avdd = 5V, Dvdd = 5V, +/- 9V for opamps. Filtered 24V for MA12070.
Just waiting for MA12070.
