M2X - problem with square signal from generator

Try rotating the toroidal transformer until the buzz induced through Edcors is minimal. Or encapsulate the Edcors with mu-metal.

The signal at R8 and R9 is of the same amplitude so it seems the unsymmetrical clipping is the result of different MOSFETs characteristics and/or one power supply rail sagging more (quicker) than the other. But, the non-symmetry is negligible; I suggest that you relax and just enjoy the sound.

I also understand your excitement and wish to play with your new toy 🙂 That's perfectly normal.

... just remember, there is no point in stressing the amplifier and letting it run when it's clipping; that means that the large, "straight" DC current is running through the MOSFETs -> that will cause all sort of damage... So, you drive the AMP into clipping, you note down the clipping points, and then you back off fairly quickly. The amp should not be clipping for more than a few seconds.

Nick

I had to use the attenuator for the CD input in pre Bride of Zen because there was too much gain (10vrms). Now at 2vrms input I have about 3vrms. I saw this sensitivity in the data for M2.
Thanks for the advice and help🙂
