Ok guys...just got the PCB today...gonna start the amp soon...about 2 days time...gotta get the parts you know...where do you guys get parts ehh??? RS and order 10 of the same value?? Seems a bit extreme for me...although I can get 1 piece locally...it is usually unmarked when packed and I have a big headache when I reach back home and then sort out the values...got an easier way?? buy a bit more and write on the "reel"?? Or tape it somewhere and mark it...??

Just a tip......
Always meassure the values of resistors before attaching them to the PCB!!!
Even though that I have no problems with the colour codes on resistors, I always measure them before attaching them.....
I takes a bit longer, but can save you both money and lots of time in the end😉

Yeah...maybe I should invest some cash on a DMM...only got an analog one now...and quite old...
Yeah...and get a scope as well right?? where vcan I get cheapie scopes in Singapore?? any one knows??
Though it does not have that fantastic silkscreen that ACD provides...and yeah...still gathering parts for my amp...now it's just the PSU...those freaky caps...grrr
Well, I cooked it in the kitchen so it would not look as good as the "original". However, it is blue...
Nice pcb work!
Hi guys,
Can't wait to get my hands on working on the LYNX! Anyway, just got finished adjusting my leach amp. You can see it here: http://www.geocities.com/jojod818/leach_amp/leach_low_tim.htm
I'll try and gather enough parts to start another round with the LYNX, this time with ACD's layout. Anyone built it yet?

Jan, the PCBs arrived but..
Hello Jan, I just received the PCBs..😀 they are really nice and incredibly tiny... one wouldn't expect them to be the PCBs for a power amp (before looking at the tracks, of course).
And yes, the silkscreen says "BCE" for the bias transistor... what if I use a TIP41C (which has the correct pinout) instead of the MJE340? 😕

PS Your email seems to be again down...

As far as I can understand the bias transistor will have a VCE of about 6Vbe, that is slightly less than 100V 😉
In Holton's symamp a BD139 is used for bias transistor, so it shouldn't be a great problem.

Sorry for my short and rushed reply before (I'm sitting at my work😉 )
Andy: You are right!
This PCB version is used in a refined Near Field Monitor Amp, that I'm trying out at the moment😀

Well, thinking about it after all it's not a great disadvantage to mount the MJE with the plastic part on the L-profile... in fact there is no need for insulation😀 .. will thermal tracking be affected?
