Yes, kinda, a single lu1014d will swing only within 0.5-4.5 Vds or so if being linear, only semiconductive under 10v being not linear at all. any voltage over 10volt will be disaster. Besides gate started to leak over 10v vds.
As a noob I want to know what circuit could add up the 2 lu1014d voltage swing to output? Make 2 0.5-4.5v lu1014d output 8vpp.

it's just physics
part almost unusable to power amp OS duty as standalone/not assisted
if you assist it, transcending to constant (or almost constant) constant voltage mode ( that means - being cascoded), resulting transfer characteristic is pentode-like
combo ending as sorta -super mosfet - having ridiculous!! xconductance ( well shown in LuDEF measurements)
only way to get back some triodish character is local feedback
that only with heavy degeneration or - more controlled/practical - is to introduce Schade feedback
....... often said - amps are more made of compromises than of parts
if you want straight/kosher solution - in majority of cases you're paying that with money ........ and in many cases with money and complexity ......... paying or no price of loosing performance
few recipes, well - not just few, of successful implementation of LU are around; F3 being one of first, if not first
take any of these, to use your stash ........ or go buy Tokin instead ......... or proper glass triode (and OPT to use it)

What about a balanced topology? Is a scheme like this practical?
I just want to build a 8Vpp max amp with Lu1014d
Of course, still need to figure out how to get the correct working point for Vgs and Vds.
My DAC has balanced outputs.

I don't know about that at all. What I need to achieve is 8Vpp max output with 0.5-4.5Vds for lu1014d. Do u have any suggesttion?
Yep! Once upon a time had a music and aqua vitae connoisseur for a neighbor whom would usually perform his night sessions right in the middle of the week entertaining us neighbors, so once had my dear neighbor's speakers for loan and thought I would build in a simple prank circuit made up of a diode, el-lyte and a 12V automotive relay that would cut out the speaker itself intermittently during crescendos, but couldn't make the relay draw even with a 120 Watt amp, a 5V relay wouldn't be good enough either as that would still allow for an awfully loud playback.People who put a scope on amplifier outputs are usually surprised at how little power they are listening to.

Do anyone have a prank circuit idea preferably made up with silicone parts powered only by the amp output that could cut out intermittently at lower outputs then please submit. B)

As a headphone amplifier it is interesting and performs very well.Ask Juma about this little circuit. Not sure how much output it can swing.
I built it for headphones, worked fine, sounded good. Its been a while.
But this design is no good as a power amplifier for 8 Ohm.
Too much distortion.
In both cases it is quite slow.

But those who have simulated the LU1014 in Spice AND have measured / built will know that none of the existing LU1014 models are accurate.
At most they function only under certain conditions. At worst they are way out.
It also tells you nothing about thermal drift, gate leakage, ...., etc.
The only way to use the LU1014 properly is to measure and build.
Keyboard design with LTSpice would yield anything resembling reality.
At best, it only gives you some directions.
Cheers,
Patrick

I measured Lu1014D that's how I know it will only work within 0.5-4.5v Vds. none of above will work well.
To build a 1watt amp with Lu1014D first problem to solve is how two use it to swing 8Vpp, Vds half to each.

Is Vds referring voltage across drain and source of lu1014d itself? Not include voltage from Rsource. I just lack the knowledge to know why.
I my understanding, lu1014d will swing from 5 to 13 volt drain to source, I my curve tracer testing, it could conduct, but with very poor linearity am I wrong anywhere?

If you already have the devices, it is easy enough to wire up the circuit.
You can then measure in circuit to see how it behaves.
Not ?
