Hi Guys,
Picked up a bunch of Quad Tube gear and a Lowther Acousta speaker.
Just 1 though.
It has a 8 inch full range speaker in it, and the Box is BIG
3 foot tall, 2 foot deep, 2 foot wide.
Bit like a Transmissionline style design.

Hooked it up and WOW!! the Bass is Incredible!!
Now I need to Find another one of these Speaks to make a pair or Buy a Pair of drivers and Make a couple of Matching boxes the same as the one I have here.

Will get some pics up soon to show you what I have got here.
Any info about these will be great. :thmbsp:
Cheers!

If you google you will find that there were quite a number of different "acousta" cabinets over the years.

Can you supply more info as to size type model of driver etc.

The Norwegian Lowther Club has a lot of info.

Haven't heard of those for a while. They look like a TL in cross-section -they're actually more a constant-width, folded rear horn if memory serves. Stuff them into corners with a highish resistance wire and feed them off a good SET or PP valve amp etc and you should get more than enought mid-bass, though of course there won't be much down low.

Thanks for the input guys.
I am new to Valve gear and First time I have had a full range speaker.
So I have alot to learn, and no I have not been living on Mars.
Just been into SS Mosfet power amps and listening to them with my TDL transmissionline Speakers, B&W DM6 and several others.

Thanks
