I think you would have to add on a stepup transformer. I think a output transformer backwards would get you up to around 40 volts, then the quads can take it from there. The problem with steping up from such a low voltage is the capacitance gets really high. I dont know if the amp would oscillate or not.
I have a 50/1 trannie in the circuit along with a bias supply. I am afraid
to hook it all up to my Sony amp. I think it would take a channel out.

A 100W/ch amplifier puts out MUCH more than 4V.
Power = (V^2)/R
100W into 8 Ohms requires 28V rms. Your 50:1 xfmr will give 1414 Vrms out, plenty to drive an ESL.
The amp should be OK when you hook it to the transformer because the transformer isolates the amp from the HV. You can help ensure stability by connecting a resistor of about 1 Ohm or so in series between the amp and the transformer.
Be careful. The output side of the transformer can hurt you badly.
