I'm curious if anyone has built this beast. I built one but before I could use it I blew my tempest. I now have the enclosure sitting in my garage and I'm using a polk 12" sub. I don't know if I am going finish it or sell the enclosure so I am curious how others have liked this design.
I use 3 Q=0.61 sealed tempest subs in my room. I'd say they need a bit of eq to make nice and flat, and that they do deliver a decent amount of bass (each sub has 300W going to it)
For stereo I prefer them crossed at 40Hz to my mains - my mains have 2 x 10" s-speak drivers per side and they are better for sound quality than the tempests. However 😀 If I want high out put i cross my mains at 80Hz and enjoy the big bass....
At the moment they are crossed at 80Hz and doing fine (gives me better dynamics at reference levels on dvd)
