Hey all, I have read various threads, searched the net and routed through eBay, and I cannot seem to find what I am looking for.
I build guitar amps and am constantly using narrow sweeps to help tune parts of the circuit. I use a PC now, but it is a royal PIA.
Does anyone make a purpose built audio sweep generator that has:
- 10Hz-20kHz
- narrow sweeps (2kHz from 1-20seconds)
- low sine distortion <.01%
- in its own little box?
thanks for the help

Some of the older wavetek stuff might work or could be modified to suit. For this sort of application I wouldn't think low thd would be majorly important if you are just looking at filter tuning and the like.
I use white noise and averaged spectrum display 😉
So you can see the effects of tweaking in "near" real time.
Beware to do not overload the Device Under Test, white noise has peaks at full level while average is about 40dB down.

test tones can be created as .wav and stored/played on any digital player - convience is only limited by the player user interface
iPod/DAP or even a desktop CD/DVD/universal player with a remote shouldn't be too cumbersome

Create (or download) the tones / sweeps that you need on a PC. Save them in WAV format. Use Windows Media Player 11 to burn them to an audio CD. Use a CD player as your source.
