Not teasing at all, if you meant 12dBu, say 12dBu. dB by itself is not a measurement of a quantity its a ratio, use the wrong symbols and units and confusion ensues.
Would you buy unseen CAT5 cable of "length 15" ? Could be inches, metres, feet, you cannot tell.
In Europe, in the "good but cheaper than sowter" category, I'd consider:
- OEP, available at RS or Canford
- Carnhill, available at audiomaintenance.com (not much cheaper though)
- Edcor, available from Don Audio (quite a bit cheaper but the specs are often a bit vague)
