Okay, here we go...
After much deliberation, I have decided that I WILL provide matched parts. My wife has been warned that there will be much cussin' and fussin' going on during the process. She has her hearing protection in place and her hands over the baby's ears.
Pricing for unmatched parts will be as stated in post #211.
Pricing for matched parts will be:
1-19 $2.59
20-50 $2.29
Quantities greater than 50--grumble, grumble, grumble...we'll cross that bridge if and when we come to it. Given the hassle factor, the price may well increase above 50.
A couple of caveats are in order. One is that matching takes time. Depending on other demands on my time, it may be slower to get matched parts than unmatched ones. Don't say you weren't warned. Another is that as I get towards the end of the parts I've got on hand, I may have trouble coming up with a matched population. No, I don't anticipate that happening any time in the next day, week, or even month. But at some point down the road, if someone suddenly decides that they want 50 matched parts and the quantity I have on hand only yields 35, we may come up short.
This is how I'd like to do this. Send me an e-mail via the little button below. Give me your DIY user name, your real name, whether you want matched or unmatched, and how many. I will also want an address to send the parts to. A post in this thread does not constitute an order. An entry on the Wiki does not constitute an order. Only an e-mail direct to me with the above information constitutes an order.
I will respond as soon as I can with an e-mail giving you my address and a total, including shipping. Please do not pass on my contact information to anyone. If you've got a buddy who wants parts, get them to sign up here or pool the quantities and order in your name.
You send me a check. Personal checks are fine, but all checks must clear my bank before I ship. No PayPal. No, I'm not set up to take credit cards. I'll accept cash, but it's not wise to send cash via the mail, so I don't think that's a good option. I cannot be held responsible if you send cash through the mail; in my experience you've only got a 50/50 chance of it actually arriving. Don't do it.
I have notified dhole that the parts are in, but have not heard back from him. All European buyers pester him, not me.
I will handle Canada, Mexico, and the US. US parts will go out immediately. Canadian and Mexican orders may be subject to delay depending on how many legal whatnots have to be satisfied. I promise to get to that as soon as possible.
Any questions--or if I've left something out--post and we'll try to get it resolved.
Sorry for the delays, folks, but all my early e-mails to Lovoltech were met with week-or-longer delays before I received a reply. As they began to take me more seriously, the turnaround got shorter. Then there were holidays to contend with, etc. (Add to that the fact that I got promoted at work--increasing my workload, and thus decreasing my posting time...) All that is past us now. The parts are here. Let's get them into some circuits.
I'll try to get time later to start a thread in the Market or whatever they call it.

Hello All

Ok Grey has the parts and I have just sent him a mail regarding getting the parts for european distro. As i have said in earlier posts I will price em up when I get em. I will accept paypal as long as charges are paid by the buyer. Otherwise cheques and money transfers ( no western union) Postage and pakaging to be added. I will put up a site I think. I will keep you posted.
regards
dave

Just thought I'd repeat:
There is no minimum order. If all you want is two devices so you can build a pair of Zen #8 (Did I get the number right? I've lost track of where we are in the series...), then two is what you shall get. You do not need to order ten.
...but...
Fair warning--Nelson's got more ideas in the pipeline and anyone brave or foolish enough to attempt the circuit I'm working on will probably need to think in terms of a minimum of four per channel. I'm going for a higher powered design. Yes, it can be cut down into a "Mini" version that would only require two JFETs per channel, but you'll need efficient speakers. Six devices, eight? Who knows?
But, of course, none of you would want anything larger than a Zen, so who am I fooling?

You want a headphone amp? Cool. I bypassed a design on the way to the one I'm working on now that might work nicely as a headphone amp. How much voltage swing do you need for your headphones?
Anyone else want to chime in on this?
List your headphones, impedance (if known), and voltage swing desired for your normal listening volume. If all else fails, play a sine into your headphones at a reasonable volume and give me the RMS voltage. We'll multiply that by some reasonable factor to have room for peaks and go from there.
Once I get done with a couple of larger circuits, I may back up and take a look at a dedicated headphone amp for Paul (and anyone else) using the other topology.

Hey, you might be a wuss, but you're my kind of wuss. Build Nelson's Zen #8 or a cut-back version of the one I'm working on.
Or both.
You know all those guys who drive around with neon lights under their cars? If you build a Zen, you'll be the only guy in the Queen City to have a car with incandescent lights, guaranteed.

Grey

Lol...yeah, that would be different. I would build a v8 Zen, but I don't have a way of doing the PS for the car. I have the PSs that I'm using on a couple fabulous Mini As at the moment, but they are split voltages- +/- 25 volts. And my electronics knowledge is pretty limited, so no building SMPS for me.

I'd like to see what you come up with Grey...cause the Mini A was a home run in my book. And if you have a design that could work on Brian's Mini boards, that would be even more cool since I have a spare set waiting to go.

I couldnt get the quote button to work, so quoting Grey manually

"Pricing for matched parts will be:
1-19 $2.59
20-50 $2.29"

Do I undertand that correct?? You mean that if one orders like 30 matched fets, one gets a pool of 30 fets all matching each other?
That would ofcourse be great🙂 I would have thought it very difficult to get so large sets of matching devices, especially on a repetitive basis.

Steen🙂
