I keep seeing references to "Loudspeakers 101" in this instance are people talking about a specific book ( I'm thinking of Ray Alden's building loudspeakers ) or are people using it as a generic term for a basic introduction to speaker design and construction??
Here in Oz we don't use that type of terminology for education programs but we watch enough idiot box to be familiar with the term.
If Ray Alden ever authored a book subtitled Loudspeakers 101 please direct me to it, I'd like to purchase it.

I think the 101 simply refers to entry level. Perhaps there is also a book by the same name, not sure.
Generic term AFAIK. The only RA book I'm aware of is the various revisions of this one: http://www.amazon.com/Advanced-Speaker-Designs-Hobbyist-Technician/dp/0790610701

I have seen "201"
And he has written many books that are not avalable except thru mail order, I thought it was a generic term for beginners, just wanted to make sure I wasn't searching for a book that didn't exist, I'm a book junkie.

Hi Rabbitz; great site but it's not a "BOOK" you can't take it on the tram and read it on the way to work ( OK!! I'm not a technological Luddite, I just won't pay the bandwidth charge on the Australian network )
Is there a 101 guide, or list of elementary info for those starting out building speakers?
Just about to start building after lurking on this forum for some time and putting together a couple of Jordan based kits...

When I started frequenting the various speaker building forums, this was most folk's reference and AFAIK is still considered the best one overall: http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?partnumber=500-035
