I have started this thread to invite all users to write a subjective online review of the DIY loudspeakers that they have built and listened for over 6 months.
Most of us wonder for a long time before buying drivers, trying to find out information about the "sound" and character of loudspeaker projects before building them for our own personal use at home, and I think it would be a great idea for all of us to spend a few minutes writing a subjective review on our finished loudspeaker projects so that we all together build up a reasonable database where we can all share our experiences (both positive and negative) on the loudspeaker diy world...
When writing the "subjective" review, please try to be as "objective" as possible (do not over-rate your speakers just because you built them!), explain your musical tastes, what is your "audiophile agenda", your room size, the rest of your audio equipment, and try to compare your diy loudspeakers to other commercial loudspeakers (or kits) so other readers can listen to them and have a clearer idea of what they are going to spend their money on.
Factors we should try to cover and discuss on our reviews:
Dynamics , textural warmth, timbre, musicality (vs analytical) tonal balance, detail, image width, depth and height, image center fill, image placement and stability, project cost (budget), freq. response, sensitivity and ease of drive, etc etc
Remember that we all look for different things when building a loudspeaker, so don't worry about stating that a loudspeaker is lean, or rather analytical instead of musical, etc etc
Come on... DON'T BE LAZY!!!!!!
The more we write and review, the better it will be for all of us!
I just hope that in a few months from now on we manage to have a decent database that can help us decide and guide us on our next loudspeaker projects....

PD - I know that the search option can be used to find information on different kits and projects, but I also believe that if we all try to keep to a similar format and post our comments into the same thread it will be much easier and helpfull for all of us to find information and choose our next loudsepeaker project.

I would be up for it.
I have in the past exhibited a few of my speaker projects at the chesterfirld HiFi shows.
It was fun.

If someone wants to pay for my plane ticket for where the location of such a show is taking place; I'm good!
Ok, enough sarcasim...Honestly though, I'd love to make every show that I can, except they'd have to be within my area...which makes me sad.
If there is a show in your area, take pictures, post on internet, and inform us about how it went!

I just ran across this site the other week: http://www.audiodiycentral.com
They have some kit reviews. It would be nice to see the more popular kits/designs to have a wiki or something like that. Maybe diy members could nominate designs or kits to have a dedicated page where people who have built these kits could post reviews.
Sort of a diyAudio Cookbook of notable designs that newbies could quickly take to without having to do alot of searching through a riff raff of posts to get to the information they need.
