bracing
second the motion - plywood for bracing, more specifically baltic birch, apple-ply or any other 'brand-name' many layer ( i.e. 3/4" would be 11 or 13ply) Void free plywood.
much stiffer per unit of weight than pure MDF, particleboard or any of the combination cabinet grade plywoods (multi-core, etc)

Thats pretty much agreed then🙂
The stuff we use at work is all void free and de-knotted aswell so looks like I'll be borrowing some offcuts.😉
Do you reckon 2 width ways, and 1 depthways will be too much - I can lose the depth one and brace it using some of the layers instead - could even use ply for the bracing layers if it helps things.( 3 front to back braces in speaker, but horizontal fitted.) the widthways will be all the way from top of speaker to bottom.
I know what this looks like, but dont know if the above makes sense without pics?
I'm going to start drawing it all up properly tomorrow, but only get a half hour lunch break so it'll take a few days.
Cheers again
