After reading up on the minidsp, I think it might be something I could use. But I'm not sure about a lot of points, and want to make sure I know what I need to accomplish my goals before I place an order.
I would like to use it for 2 purposes; general room eq for a 2 channel system that incorporates single driver OB speakers and stereo subs, and subwoofer eq and crossover duties for said stereo subs. I am currently using a Fisher 400 to power the OB speakers, although I may soon upgrade to a Decware SET. In either case, I don't have a separate preamp or preamp outputs. So I'm not sure how I physically wire the minidsp in between my source (which is all vinyl) and my receiver (or SET). I also am not sure what plug-in to utilize. For what I read, it seems like the 2 way advanced 21 plug-in would accomplish both objectives. Is that true?
Lately, and this is where I'm embarrassed at my ignorance, can I run both the general room eq and sub eq/crossover at the same time? And once I get it all set up, do I just take my laptop out of the loop, with the settings saved I the minidsp?
By the way. I intend to buy the mic as well.
Thanks for your help and guidance.
