The 6A3s ARE a treasure. Except for the filament voltage, the 6A3 is identical to the 2A3. Good 2A3 circuits can be found all over the 'NET. There are 2 things to watch out for. Hum levels in a 6A3 are higher than those in a 2A3. Current regulated DC on the 6A3 filaments is the answer to hum. An 'A3 amp produces about 2.5 W. It has to be mated with speakers that are 97+ dB. efficient.

Is there enough gain in the 6SN7/6V6 combo to achieve full power when driven by a CDP? An "integrated" amp makes sense to me as a 1st project. If more gain is needed, the 6J7s might be the "place" to get it.
