Hi! I have been out of the hobby for a while. I am very happy with my primary system, but would like to also build a small system for on my desk (or hang on the wall above my desk).
However, I have no experience with near field builds. I do own these tweeters from a previous build: https://www.scan-speak.dk/product/d2008-851100/
The questions I have are, would they be valid for a nearfield build? What do you need to take into account in building a nearfield speaker?
Any known near field builds using these drivers?
Weird how, even when you are happy with your system, you start looking for places where you could build a second one 😉

IIRC the D2008/851100 is very similar to the Hiqufon OW1 and therefore any of the builds using this tweeter may work well with only minor edits tot he tweeter padding. May be worth modelling existing design with the OW1 and then swapping for the D2008 to see if it is a close match.
A couple of project using this OW1 are -

Bit more info on the Willys Hifi pages for the OW1/OW2 and the D2008's. Looking harder it looks like 85110 is comparable to the OW2 but they all have fairly similar responses but different sensitivities which can ususally be dealtwith by adding/modifying the LPAD on the Tweeter.
