Hello
I'm looking for schematic good but simply(max. 6 transistors per rail) discrete (BTJ) voltage regulator for my headphone amp
What I need?
Vout= +/- 15-18V
Imax=800mA -1A
BTJ transistors
My idea is:
Trafo=>rectifer=>capacitors=>regulator=>Kmultiplier=>headamp
Thanx

What about the 78 and 79 series of voltage regulators? Simple and only two decoupling capacitors required.
Hi
Now i'm using LM317/337 + c-multiplier(schematu from F5HA thread) It's not bad but..
I'n looking fir something better if it's possible
I have not place in my case for heatsink etc so Shunt regs are excluded...

Look up the TNT site.
http://www.tnt-audio.com/clinica/regulators_noise1_e.html
9pages in all.
I built up a breadboard version a few days ago and just last night completed a protoboard version (all smd except the output bd140 with sink) ready for testing when I get back from holiday.

Be aware that a cap multiplier largely undoes some of the advantages of the regulator, like low output impedance and tight regulation.
