Hi all , not sure if this is not the right forum , pls pardon me if it is and move it if required.
I have this locally built speaker that sounds absolutely awesome to my tastes and would like to obtain the above drivers to try rebuilt it completely. My drivers are still working well , but I want to see if I can still obtain perhaps sets of nos or close to nos drivers.
I am not sure what snake oil exactly exist in this build , but it is exactly what I want to listen to.
Mated with the Sansui AU111 this set is so musical and enjoyable , something I have missed for a long while in my high end endeavors.
I think the basic design is perhaps a take on the dalqhuest , but this sounds so much better( not that I ever tried a dalqhuest on an AU111).... so maybe it's just the synergy.
The speaker has the seas in a very tightly sealed box ( some rubberized / tar goo painted on the inside and also used to seal the basket to the baffle mounting) than it runs OB on top with the Philips AD 5060 , some dome I can't identify maybe vifa , and the decca kelly ( romagna reproducers) ribbons.

Sony SS5300 uses the Seas 25F-EW
You can do one better with the alnico version of the driver; Seas 25TV-EW

I know that driver and I have a lot of other drivers which individually will most probably be rated better in the audio gear communities ..but I don't want the sound to change .....hence I stated I am not sure what parts of the system as it stands now contains the magic , is it the Leben , the au111 , the sources , or the speakers ... ? Who knows ...
Anyway , after the highend stuff this is where I want to settle so I am very keen on getting just the exact same but in "pristine" to nos conditions ...

I don't think you have read my first sentence:
Vintage Sony SS5300 speakers use Seas 25F-EW.
If you can find a pair of that speaker, you can salvage the drivers.

Ok so it seems that the dome on mine is similar to a dq10 oem and not a tweeter but upper mid dome ... the Kelly decca ribbon is used as tweeter
They show up quite regularly here on ebay for ~£30
I gave a pair to a friend.
