It's time to upgrade my 30 yr old system,looking for rack mount gear. I need a pre-amp/mixer, am/fm tuner, cd player. Reconditioned used gear is not out of the question.

You have this thread in the instrument amp section. Are you using this stuff for a DJ rig or something?
Grasping for straws posting here, so much of the rack mount gear is found when searching mentioning bands. Yes, I still have my gear from the years I did mobile work it needs to be upgraded.
Some of the hifi guys call their equipment a rack, when all it really is is a shelf unit. I was wondering if you really needed rack gear, or just new home stereo stuff. I don't usually expect a DJ rig to have an FM tuner, for example.
My gear is all rack mount the tuner is for home use only. Every so often the wife and I fire up the system downstairs it fills the home with a beautiful full body experience. One of these days I'll post a picture or two of our setup.
You could buy Rack handles and mount on 42 cm standard hifi equipment, or buy a rack shelf

I appreciate the response from all of you. After a few weeks of sitting in front of this monitor asking all kinds of questions reading reviews finally found all the pieces I need to replace my old gear and it's all rack mount except for the tuner. Thank you again
