i am tryiing to look for a 6.5 inch car speaker for midrange but i dont want to get ones with the tweeter in the middle and as soon as i look at component sets they come with tweeters and crossovers that i dont need.
can anyone reccomend a 4 ohm speaker that is easy on the wallet and looks nice. i have to admit i really cant tell the difference between a good speaker and a great one so i think the extra that would be spent would probably be wasted on me anyway.

Hard to go wrong with the Vifa paper-cone stuff.

Parts Express has a boatload of 6.5" speakers. If you don't want a coaxial driver with a tweeter, avoid their "car" speakers. Try looking at these instead:

I won't promise these will fit correctly in a truck or wherever you are trying to install them. Most of these probably need a sealed enclosure to work properly. But, if you can't tell sh!t from shinola what difference does it make?

You looking to just cover midrange and midbass? PartsExpress is a great place to look and so is Madisound.
as a general rule what should i be looking for in a speaker? is there a specific T/S value that makes a speaker better than another? or is the material used to make a speaker?
right now i have a bunch of kicker 2 way 6.5 inch and i would like to upgrade them. i guess my question is how do i know if i am upgrading or not?

i like the look of the dayton speakers and when i did a search it turns out there is a dealer pretty much next door to me.

You really need to further define what you're looking for this speaker to do. What frequency spectrum will it be asked to play? You said you're looking for just the midrange; can we assume you already have tweeters?
yes i already have the tweeters and the subs figured out. i am trying to build a hybrid system i need to listen to bass heavy music and i also need it to play movies in sort of a pseudo hi-fi set up. its why i need so many speakers, because i would like to have 5.1 sound for both passengers. its more important this setup to play music first and movies second

what i was thinking was running the midbass at 90hz-3khz. if it is reccomended i would possibly split them again so i have some from 90-800hz and another set to handle 801hz-3khz. i dont know if this is needed or not but i have the space and the power to run up to 8 speakers per passenger.
