Clamp a 1/4"-20 bolt in a drill press and use a file to shape a tapered point on it. Thread the chassis using a 1/4"-20 tap.
Requires access to a drill press, of course, but has the advantage that you can have whatever length/taper suits your needs.
[edit] If 1/4"-20 is too big, use #12, #10, or #8 machine screws. [/edit]
