I'm looking for a reasonably priced player, either a cd or dvd that I can modify to get superior performance.
I see marantz and nad mentioned alot as well as the denon dvd2900.
Is there unit out there that is considered the best bang for the buck???

What I'm looking for is a couple of player suggestions for a good starting point for a hot-rodding or modifing project to bring it up a couple of levels.

I'm looking for opinions on the denon dvd2900 or the
Marantz sa8260 as aproject to modify.
My primary goal is audio and ease of modifications, I guess the video on the denon is just a bonus as I hear it's a very good audio player....
Either unit can be had for about $150-200
