Looking for an output stage class D board for a bass amp, around 200-400W

I have some experience with building tube stuff, but not as good with solid state. I wanted to build a hybrid bass amp with tube pre and class D output. Nothing revolutionary, every amp maker today has something like that.
:deer:
Ebay is flooded with all sorts of class D power amp boards, and I wonder if there are any recommendations on what works and what doesn't. I'm looking for something like 200-400W mono into 4-8 ohms, and I'd rather buy a switchmode power supply too instead of a transformer.
:deer:
On the other hand, I just fried a Fender BXR 300 amp which is too expensive to repair and I have a chassis with a huge power transformer which I may use. The schematics of the Fender shows +-70V rails, so I hope I can stick in a class D board.

I'm basically asking what boards can you recommend?

This one will do the job with the Fender PSU : Connexelectronic

Cheers ,

I myself have had some nice experience with ALONG's L15D PCBs, which are based upon IRS2092 and IRFI4019H.
Here is, where you can find his PCBs (for example: L15D Digital Audio amplifier kit IRS2092 IRFI4019H | eBay)

I have equipped my build with a CONNEXELECTRONIC SMPS, speaker protection and PGA2311 based volume- and source selection - control.
(I have been too lazy to cut a hole for the LCD into the wooden front. The LCD is definitely needed for the PGA2311-PCB being used.)

And yes: the L15D controls bass very tightly.

Best regards - Rudi_Ratlos

200W

2 doctordata: thanks, Connex stuff looks reliable. If there will be no more suggestions here I'll go for it.

2 paugie: 200W may also work. I recently played with a very small Gallien-Krueger 200W head and it still delivers. But the rule of the thumb is - the more watts you have, the more headroom, and the more headroom = better bass response. 150W solidstate amps usually start choking when you try to crank them against an aggressive drummer.

Yeah, I think I understand. 🙂
