hi guys🙂 .... this is my first thread and well i'm looking for a good active subwoofer circuit - project to construct my self. i have never made a subwoofer as of yet .. and will need some assistance. please keep in mind that i'm from india where u don't get many parts and spares

Well all the explainations are in French but you don't really need them unless you want to know the detail of how it works.
I can get you the schematics only. They should be fairly straight forward...
An active filter (or crossover) will modify the signal before it gets to the amplifier. The main advantage is that the crossover attributes can be altered in real time and easily (in the case of my active filter, you can adjust the upper range from 30Hz to 120Hz and adjust the output volume). It is usually built with small electronic like ICs & stuff. The main drawback of this configuration is that you need an amplifier for each output of the filter. In case of an active filter for a 3 way speaker, you need 3 amps to power that speaker (6 in total for a configuration in stereo). However, in the case of a sub, we don't care because the filter has only one output. Most subs on the market use active filters.
A passive filter is placed after the amplifier thus allowing to use only one amp for a mutli way speaker. It is made with passive component like capacitors and coils. The drawback is that once the filter is made, it cannot really be adjusted. There are some ways to go around that but at the expense of some power loss. The vast majority of X-way speakers on the market use passive filters.
In the case of my passive sub, it's frequency response and cutoff frequencies are fixed. I could of course convert it to active, but I would need an amp for it. I am still not decided whether to do it or not...

If I recall, they to were having difficulty with the availability of drivers and materials to construct their owwn speaker systems. They seem to be doing OK now so maybe you will be able to network with them to find sources for what your looking for. You will find them on the thread below:
