Hi,
I'm looking for such a device which allow to be slaved by an external MCLK.
I just saw devices with embeded own high quality crystals to do the MCLK but would like to avoid it and without external FIFO... : so with an external MCLK to slave it.
- The Blck fs can be set up or already fixed at 32 fs or 64 fs max.
- Uf.l output needed for MCLK input and I2S outputs.
Does such a device exist (USB or Spidf to I2S) please ?
Maybe an already existing one where the clocks can be switched off? Wave-I/O ? Amareno ?
regards,
Eldam

Amanero can use an external MCLK Signal, however this external MCLK needs to sense the actual sampling rate and provide the correct MCLK (e.g. 22.579MHz for 44.1kHz and 24.576MHz for 48kHz). Therefore actual samplerate is coded at the pin header of the Amanero.
Not to be mixed up with I2S master/slave! Asynchronous USB devices will always be master (except additional FIFO is used).
kind regards, Daniel

Thank you Daniel,
If my understanding about your answer is corect, I can't avoid one of those two frequencies because it is already programed on the chip (or in the design) ?
Did you hear about a design which allow to slave but with a software or straps possibilities to choose the MCLK and the I2S speed (e.g. for a low speed crystal like 6.x Mhz e.g. where Mclk could be equal (or not) to Bclk ?
thank you also about the last sentence of your inputs, It helps a lot as i was not really confident with this concept.

Eldam
