I've got this vintage MA20 Roland studio monitor and the driver is chirping and distorting like a cricket 🙁
I've tested out of the unit on another amp to check it's definitely a faulty speaker and it is. It measures 7.5" diagonally from mounting hole centres. 4ohm 15w printed on the back of the magnet.
Can anyone recommend a suitable replacement available in the UK/EU?
Thanks in advance (and excuse the cross-post but this forum felt more relevant)

The most important factor is finding one that fits. Take careful note of the hole size and distance in between screws. As well as clearance from the edge. Chances are you will need to find one that had the frame shape as your present one. Not a pure circular frame.
You can try looking at 6.5" drivers...

Agree that physical fitting will be your greatest problem.
Fear a 6.5" woofer will not fit, since the whole cabinet is
Advent successfully mounted a 10" cone in a 12" frame by using an easy to home make Masonite ring adapter.
I suggest you use that idea, making the masonite ring fit the available hole (easy, you can use the current frame as a template to cut it) and use it to mount an easy to find high quality 5" woofer or full range unit.
Which will be as good as or better than the old unit.
A coax will be hard to find, but a modern speaker with aluminum voice coil (think Faital Pro) reaches incredibly high.

MAYBE you are lucky, but I would suggest a Plan B:DIMENSIONS:
160 (W) x 185 (D) x 235 (H) mm
6 – 5 / 16 (W) x 7 – 5 / 16 x 9 – 1 / 4 inches

So here's the happy coincidence. The cabinet mounting pattern and cutout are almost exactly the same as the 13cm car door speaker standard.
Excuse the Halfords special.... but I wanted to test out the unit further before buying a nice speaker. Now to find a half decent permanent replacement.
