Looking for a microphone for traveling

What I do:
I record screencasts ( tutorials ) and on my spare time play my acoustic guitar, which I would like to be able to record sometime as well. It's not a dealbreaker if the "musical" recording isn't top tier, but I need voiceovers to sound **good**.

What I care for:
Echoes...choes..oes...es....
This is my main concern. For example, the place I'm staying in has "bedroom sheet thin" curtains, high ceiling, wooden floors, no rugs, one soft sofa, - you get the picture - a nightmare to record in, for me at least..east..ast..st...

On the other hand - sometime I might be in a room that has nice rugs, etc., but it is going to be a hot, sunny day, and somebody is going to be drilling outside. I want to be ready for that day...

What I own right now:
I started out with Blue Snowball, it was ok for starting, but a nightmare in picking things up. I now own a Rode Podcaster ( the USB Version ) and it's slightly better ( I can edit out the people drilling ), but it picks up the echoes really well, which isn't ideal.

Notes:
I would prefer something that is portable. Getting a heavy stand for my Rode Podcaster + Shock Mount isn't a "light, air travel friendly" way for me to travel.

I think I'm pushing it a bit ( A small/portable microphone, that has a great audio quality and isn't too expensive ), but I will appreciate any pointers.
