I'm browsing for a budget dac on ebay but there's a lot of them to choose from. I gonna use it for my laptop and thru my t amps.I have an old yamaha dsp a2 which plays 44.1 and 48khz(if you play dvd).but now adays the music res bit is getting higher (96khz and so on).my budget will be on the range of $100

www.diyaudio.com ....not www.ebayaudio.com.... So DIY is the driving force. It is also more fun to build one yourself.

96 kHz max and USB only. Excellent value, AFAIK best bang for the buck. Don't forget to buy the power supply as it is sold separately. At least for european customers, can't find that on the US website...

The fun is the module play right out of the mail package. (on the usb power supply). When you want you can add better powersupply later.
It sounds rather wel to me.
