GREAT NEWS!

I found someone who will hand carry the Tonals to the US and forward it to my relative in New York. By next weekend the Tonals should be in his hands. I am sending over 10 units, 5 or 6 have already been spoken for. Thanks all for your patience!

For comments and questions on the operation of the Tonal this thread should be fine. Questions regarding the details of the transaction (I suppose) is more appropriately handled through email.

Thanks again

The counterweight keeps the magnet up. When the tonearm starts pushing on the trigger, the magnet starts moving down toward the tonearm until the magnetic force overcomes the counterweight. The magnet flies toward the arm but is stopped in its tracks by a limiting screw. So then the arm rises to meet it.

I tried to email you but my mail was rejected.

Cheers,

I don't want to get you guys too excited, but I just got a piece of information from my "slow" shipper. The Tonals have been sent from Las Vegas via First Class mail on March 19. It shouldn't be too long now!!

c.d.s., there are a few Tonals still available. First come, first served.

Here is the way I see it: if there is a big demand for Tonals based on user recommendations, I will set up another batch of maybe 20 asap. If not, I can still do orders but at a slower pace (it is a big pain in the neck to build onesies and twosies). In the meantime, try the units out, if you have any problems with it, just email me and I'll guide you until your unit works flawlessly.

Again, thanks all for your continued patience.

Looking for a diy...

Hi

j7's right. AT's "Safety Raiser" is just about the best of the devices I tried. A beggar to set up though. Since I use it with a 301 with its high platter, I had to turn a taller tube to raise it for correct operation.

Cheers

I think i am going to put the money i was going to spend on the tonal on purchasing a small used lathe, and try making one myself. I also would need it to mount all the way on the table. Either way i got extra turning to do.
Any thoughts on using the mount for the tonal to also hold a static dissipation brush? I thought if i can make it adjustible so it is just not touching the platter it would allow excess static to dissipate wound creating noise to travel through the platter.

SWEET!!! The 10 Tonals have finally arrived in New York!

I believe the following have made reservations for 1 unit each:

Badge,
barry robin,
Gonzalo,
The Skintman,
Bulgin,
cds,
Jeffrey Piwonka.

These will be held for you for a reasonable time (10 days?). Please email Mario at:
kamedito@verizon.net

Mario will provide all the details.

Thanks for waiting. Now it's my turn to wait for your feedback. Please be kind 🙂 .

mandy, there just might be an extra; my original order was doubled up with theskintman's for payment and shipping purposes...so i'll be recieving two, hopfully. the list above has his name seperately as a single reservation-is that perhaps an extra?
