I’m looking to build a high sensitive sub in a 70l cabinet. The front baffle will be 38x60cm so 15” is probably difficult so I’m looking for a nice 12”. Music primarily. I will build two for stereo and have a separate 19” stereo PA amp of 2x200watt to run them, active xo 80Hz. Front ported. Budget is perhaps 300-400 eur for the driver pair. Room is currently around 25m2 but plan to move to something bigger. With a 70l is PA drivers perhaps most suited? I had a Cerwin Vega Stroker 12” many years ago which I liked even for home use but I prefer 8 ohm for home. I like rugged alu diy cast frame not bendable steel. Advice?

The Ciare 12.00SW-4 could be fit, altough i think the box best is a bit smaller (more like 50-60L). But easy to tune to F3 of 32Hz ported in that size and enough xmax to keep that tuning under high power.

It´s an online tool for a quick loudspeaker sim but most importantly it has a pretty big database with drivers.
Instead of choosing ("choose") the driver directly, click "choice" under "speaker",
then say closed/vented and give the volume of 70l.
Afterwards you can filter for certain diameters and sort the results by f3.
70liters sealed shows above 100 drivers as results although some of these are probably fullrange drivers, not obtainable anymore or otherwise not suitable.
Pricewise starting from a Goldwood Sound GW-12PC/8 over a Dayton Audio RSS315HFA-8 to maybe a Wavecor SW312 on the other end.
Then there is the Loudspeaker Database
If you know Qts and Vas you can search pretty conveniently and it even indicates most prices for drivers.

I’m surprised today’s subwoofers seems for the most part designed for small cabinets using heavy cones and low sensitivity and compensate with high Xmas and power. 12” drivers back in the day often required up to 100l. I think I can fit with a 15” on a 38cm baffle so maybe that’s a better option? Maybe something like Em Kappa Pro 15LF?
It's probably the other way around.
Higher Xmax = heavier coil
Heavier coil = heavier cone
Heavier cone = lower sensitivity
Higher Xmax = heavier coil

I don't know where you want to put the compromise between efficiency and low bass, but I'd suggest you look at the Faital 12PR320.
