Hi Everyone,
My current system is taking shape, virtually all of it I bought on ebay, garbage picked, or found at thrift shop in a damaged or otherwise non-working condition, then repaired.
Anyhow, everything is taken apart right now due to remodel - I hope to have some new projects for my rig when it comes back on line after remodel is complete (sometime early spring, hopefully)
Though I've retired out of it, my degree is in electronics, and I used to do board level repairs for a living.
Like the title says, I'm looking to step it up a notch and see what I can make with my own 2 hands - to either compliment or replace parts of my system.
Here's the current list:
Main System:
Martin Logan Aeon electrostatics
Sony TA-N55ES amp
B&K Reference 20 pre
VMPS Larger Sub (1000 watt)

Center: None! Gave it away (Infinity)

Welcome. I am new here myself but I used tio lust after a pair of Martin Logans myself. Must have been the SL3s way back then.

Well there's an up side & a down side to the Martin Logans - you hear absolutely everything (good and bad)
I could go on and on about modern music producers and their damn loudness war, but that's a rant for another venue. But suffice to say these logans will point out a nasty compressed "MP3 / iPod-erra" recording in a hurry.
Not that MP3's are automatically bad, it's just that since MP3's record labels have been producing things louder and more compressed by the month.
But I lucked out and paid next to nothing for these things(relatively speaking, given their MSRP) and when you can feed them a clean signal they just sing! They blow everything else I've ever had right out of the water, and I've had some pretty decent gear
I plan on building a switch so I can use different amps & speakers for different music.
Greeting form Australia.
Cheers, Jonathan
