Hello, I shorted my Squeezebox Duet and am in need of a schematic or a reference for someone who can perform the repair.
The short happened when I was attaching a custom PSU and I had not let it discharge properly after moving it - when I plugged it into the Duet, I heard a small spark and the unit went completely dead - no power at all. I knew the PSU was fine and have since hooked it up to another Duet to confirm - all is good.
My problem is that I have the dead Duet sitting around and I want to fix it. I opened the box and there are no fuses - thinking it could be a transistor near the PSU jack. However, I cannot locate a schematic and am kind of in the dark at this moment.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Thanks.

Hi,
I am sad for you...
After the PS input there are 3 or 4 regulators near the smd caps... I don't know if those regs can just fry with blocking a short?
One famous guy who tweaked the SB maybe have the shematic or maybe can help you: Squeezebox Touch announced - John Swenson - Computer Audio Asylum
or : Raspberry Pi used as a Squeezebox server
or : Mondo Wi-Fi Music Player and Internet Radio | Grace Digital : believe it can work with a squeezebox client on your computer.
Good Luck

Eldam,
Thank you so much for the suggestion. I have emailed the resource you mentioned and I'll post any updates. Cheers.

Hi Claude960,
Maybe some very skilly fellows here who own the SB Duet could help you also. But better luck for you to find more ressources at Slimaudiodevice forum or with very experienced like John Swenson who know the shematic.
My knoweldge in electronic is very low.
Did you try to get out the wifi card carrefully ? (because glued on the bottom face iirc ?!) You will see much better all the regulators and take the voltages at their output voltage pins.
Hope for you than the short didn't destroy any ROM prg or more fragile active devices in the SB...
If any shematic provided in the other bars, please post it here...
good luck
