logged in but cant check PMs

Hello i am logged into the site properly as is indicated by me being able to post this topic but i am unable to check my PM's I have one PM currently that i need to check if there is any resolution to this problem please let me know

Upper right, where it says welcome plus your name, right below that it says Private Messages. What exactly happens when you click on that?
