Just for fun, I decided to use my shigaclone cd transport to make comparaisons with files on computer. In the time I had a homemade dac which worked correctly with this Shiga. It used a CS8416 receiver. Now I have a DCS dac and it doesn't want to lock with the cd transport . If I use the transport connected in my Audio gd interface DI-20 connected to the DCS it works but I sometimes hear cracking noise like if I played a LP.
The output of the cd transport is 0.5V. As you can see, the square waves taken at the output of the transport at the end of a 1m coax are quite good. With my frequency counter connected to the output of the cd transport I read 1.79 MHz. What could be the problem ? Thanks.

The DCS is very sensitive. Any settings you can change in the DAC?

I think this is not a problem only related to the DCS as I hear sometimes some 'cracking' noise with other dacs or interface I tried. The transport is homemade and the unshielded power transformer inside the casing is really near the electronic board and laser. I suspect it is too close so it can cause problems (jitter etc ?) I will try to use it outside the casing but...
When I look at the square waves on the scope, the trace light intensity seems to fluctuate a bit. Does it means something ?
So I'm loosing my time if I try to position the transformer outside the casing ?
I tried many signal attenuation as from the chip output, there's 2v. I settled at 0.5V with a 300 ohm in series and a 100 ohms to the ground. I tried the output with a cap. It is always doing the same thing.
