Ok, tubes seen nice, after all, something with a round cross section can handle the most pressure of any shape, but there's one simple reason that I'm hesitant to use them- they look funny! But here's what I might do- use round tubes, but mount those in a rectangular box (if it's worth the cost and complexity). Of course they will be mounted asymetrically in their air spaces to keep them close, but the enclosures will be built into one.

For this to work the open baffle has to have a dipole cutoff below the cross-over point.
