I'd be curious if the new-er opa1656 doesn't beat the NE5534 in almost every one its edge cases (namely, it's rather nice output stage) -- the low distortion oscillator thread makes a case for it.
I still have an HP 8903a which looks very similar to the Boonton 1120, the oscillator is not the best and the residual distortion of the meter isn't stellar either, I ended up buying a Cordell Distortion Magnifier to extend the measurment range, I just ordered it a couple of days ago. I also have an AP Sys-1 so the whole setup might be redundant.
