In times past these sort of people (hucksters) sold 'patent medicines' to the unwitting - these days they sell gullible and scientifically ignorant audiophiles the audio equivalent. At least it won't probably won't injure someone unless it falls on them.. 😉😉

Actually this is largely IMHO a matter of education or more correctly, lack thereof. The disdain for math and science in this country is frightening and sad.
