I just read that article and thought how clever, but then wondered why..
I also of course wondered how much voltage headroom is available in that driver design..

Should make a nice low distortion differential test signal generator (driven by a sound card) for testing P-P output tube stages and differential driver tube stages. I just got some LME49810 chip samples in, good for 60 mA drive instead of the 10 ma for the LM4702.
a bit OT: I would like to see an amp using one of these driver chips with Thermal Trak outputs and also a Vbe generator with Hawksford Error Correction implemented.
