serched forum and fined that lm3886 is good for sub amplifier.
i need some amp, about 100w rms to run 4ohm drive (focal 30a1 sub), can two lm3886 in parallel aplication run focal 30a1 ?
would 225VA transformer run that amp?
need some shematic, i found something but i wont aou guys to tell me, whats the best... many thanks.

To drive a 4 ohm sub, you will need two LM3886s or one LM4780 work in parallel.
Before it, you should fit a subwoofer filter of course.
Just one 160VA toroid will be enough to feed these amps..
That will give you more than 100W into 4R..

niceee.what do you mean by fitting a subwoofer filter? im planing to make some aktive filter for sub.
shematic?
shematic?

shematic?
Have a visit to my Blog - http://diygainclone.blogspot.com/2008/07/subwoofer-filter-pcb.html
hehe I mean shematic for amplifier but this is ok too.
are this parts for filter available in farnell?
thanks.

Schematic link was also there - anyways this is the link

I use to sell a ParaPix Sub amp and there were 2000
of them, they are all gone and there is some information
and schematic on this page, near the bottom.
HTH's
They used 2 LM 3886T's

If require more output power, then go for BPA configuration which is using 4 or more LM3886s and bigger size transformer.
Better go for Solid state class AB amp if u r looking power in excess over 200W for a subwoofer. Why to spend 4-6 LM3886 for a subwoofer.
Solid state amp will keep cost down and is Ok for countineous high power use and keep exotic LM3886 ICs for Nornal bass or midrange driver.

Im still learning, and if i screw something than better some cheap then something expensive...and overall i love lm3886 😀

i need project with layout board!😉
Example:
http://www.shine7.com/audio/bpa300.htm
now for that...to expensive...need something around 100w rms on 4 ohms..2-3 chips, nothing more, some small shematic with layout.
many thanks.
many thanks.
no. now your question is why? i don`t understand a lot off things from data sheet. 😀 but i will look... 🙂
Have you seen this?
Probably the simplest way to build an amplifier, if your hands are not too shaky. 😉
For parallel application you build that twice and connect the input in parallel to both ICs. Connect a resistor 0,1Ohm 3W or 0,22Ohm 5W to each output. Connect the open ends of the resistors together and connect the speaker there.
If you build a parallel application, you need to make sure that the three resistors Rb, Rf, Ri are matched to 0,1%. Rb is not in the schematic in the above link, but you should fit it in between Rg and the ICs non-inverting input. Use the same value as for Ri.
Add a snubber 2,7Ohm and 100nF to the output.
Add some bigger capacitors to your PSUs, because you want punch for a subwoofer.

yes, seen that before, but i want shematic with board (layout). p2p is ugly. 😀
btw - my friend made gc by that guide. 🙂

You can manage a chipamp, so you are ready for the next step... assembling this real 100W into 4R amp should be within your reach now... It will cost about the same as a chipamp, but will eat it for breakfast in a sub. Look up the original DX.
