see the DIY HIFI source thread for what Frank means by everything matters.... i'm not sure you will continue to be on the same page. In the normal sense of that phrase I tend to agree.
I agree completely about limitations though, the speakers are obviously the bottleneck in most systems, especially if you take the crossover out of the equation.
there will always be something inexplicable to make your audio a living, grating, maddening hell though, hey Frank?

Tom, boxes only exist to support the drivers in space, hopefully without wobbling around too much, or having surfaces that vibrate overly, when driven hard, and to adjust the driver characteristics at the low end. Apart from that they can be made as lairy as you like, as minimal or as convoluted as fashion and aesthetics dictate.
I've never fussed much about "boxes", they've only been a minor player in my "adventures" so far ...

Is there a mosquito in the room ...? 😀
But seriously, audio can always be listened to at a number of levels, depending upon one's mood and interest at the moment. You can use it like a TV set, to provide a background ambience, like a water fountain bubbling; or you can take it seriously, give it a bit of throttle to see what it can do. It should work well in both situations, but if you take it seriously then the aim, at least for me, is to get the maximum out of it ...

yep, getting the maximum is fine, provided that which you are trying to 'correct' is actually tangible
I can only say, it's tangible for me ... I'm working at the level where one ordinarily would say the problem is the recording, that the latter was poorly engineered, or over-engineered. It's only because I gone through the exercise too many times, thinking to myself, this recording is just too far gone, too OTT, I can't rescue it, can't make it good to listen to. And I've always been proved wrong, every time - I'm motivated to tweak further because of the challenge presented to me by that recording, and that tweaking has always done the goods, every time - I'm able to lift the standard of replay to get a decent performance, which in turn has benefited all the other recordings ...

Ok thank you friends for the comments.
Finally I changed my mind to shift to LM3886 chip amp.& for the speakers I'd buy second hand branded ones 🙂 Like Kenwood,Technics etc...I think even 8" speakers will be fine.Larger the speakers easy to drive even from a low wattage power amp I guess.
As soon as I completed my PCB I'm going to set it up.I'll upload some pics after I build that 🙂

Most Japanese brands are not well known for good speakers. Pioneer I think is the more popular one for good speakers/drivers. But mostly not high end level.
Speakers are much more important than amplifiers so at least do a similar research too when you want to choose the speakers. You may want to invest most of your money on the speaker.

You are correct 🙂

Please excuse my admitted shameless promotion, but as a mater of timing I'd just like to reference the current group buy for the MyRef Fremen Edition power amp. You may well prefer to design your own PCB but several years of tweaks and revisions have produced an LM3886 module that many feel is beyond compare. Please take a look🙂
