Tone it down a bit, I'm not an accomplice, Im trying to educate people on how to spot spammers and their tactics.
I have reported numerous spammers, including the ones that go undetected, aka the invisible spammer.
If the mods just delete the posts, before I can impart some knowledge then no-one will understand why the post was deleted.

All I meant was that you could have been a little less cryptic. Nothing more than that.
Some others spent much more time in their replies, which is precious, in that the time was ultimately wasted...

Spammers try to achieve a couple of things, to either promote a business by stealth like our friend Stella (Kynix) or to increase search engine hits.
To give you some idea on how effective some of the spammers that I have reported have been, if one of the invisible spammer accounts enters a business weblink in the profile name then a search engine can pick up the website within an hour.
One spammer was successful that their business name and the diyaudio link was on the from page of Bing within 30mins.

The search engine bit is one I have been through.
I make the plastic fans that are used to cool induction motors, they are fixed to the shaft on the away side of the motor under a cowl...They send air past the fins, I think you understand what I am referring to.
Since 2004, only one relevant query...
Most want table fans, or panel fans.
My standard response is, please see the photos, and mail me on my GMail.
One relevant response since 2004, and he wanted free samples sent to Saudi Arabia, the handling was more than the item value.
And since these hits are marked, the trading web sites tell me you are getting noticed, please upgrade your membership to a higher paid category...They claim to have some secret formula that will make my name pop up first page on search sites, and that is costly.
Some even claim that Google is paid part of the amount so that my name pops up first page. But no details are provided about this so called arrangement.
I ask them why they do not make the people asking questions the people to pay, maybe I will get less stupid questions.

Good question, Stella is convincing enough that her enquiry could be considered as genuine.

Some messages on WhatsApp have claimed that the Good Morning photos and messages are tracked by hackers in China, they try to find your frequently contacted numbers.
Anyway, if needed, easy enough for the moderators to track, provided the details were genuine.
Maybe a system of 24 hour cooling off, and a simple e-mail verification system for new members, and a system where you are expected to verify that you are alive every year?

It weeds out the unused accounts, and maybe meets some legal requirements in their country.

I fired up a demo setup of xenforo over at their website, there are some changes that the forum administrators could implement to stop most of the spammers.
The biggest problem diyaudio has at the moment is making all the accounts publicly visible, so any weblinks or business names in your profile gets picked by the search engines and webcrawlers. The spammers take advantage of this. With the old forum software you had to be logged in to see another members account.
