LM1117 in DAC power supply

Hi:

I want to step down linear regulated 5v to linear regulated 3.3 volt for DAC. Current draw will be 200mA but I need really clean supply.

Using Nationals’ schematic, I plan to use LM1117-3.3, a 10uf tantalum at the input, a 10uf tantalum at the ouput and a 0.1uf ceramic bypass at the output. Will it be enough or any suggestions about parts?

Thanks

You can see LM1117 in my DAC schematic.
I use it for 5 years.
LM1117 is good for this.

Thanks Pryanick!

You are using a 470mh inductor after LM117-3.3 for CS8416 VA supply but just capacitors after LM1117-5 for CS4391A VA.

What difference it makes? Also can you share the type of capacitors and inductor you used for LM117-3.3?

Hi
1. 470mh inductor gives us some power source decoupling VD from VA cuz i use same volts and same voltage stabilizer for them. You can remove inductor and make separate power source unit with LM1117-3.3v and two caps for CS8416 Analog part. Hope it will be a little bit better then i did🙂

2. Capacitors for CS8416 VA&VD and for CS4391A VA&VL are tantalum.
Huge caps like 2200x16v x25v are ordinary caps.
